Marorka Energy Management

The energy efficiency challenge

Operating a ship at the most energy efficient setup is a challenging task due to the constantly changing operating conditions and the large number of influencing factors and interdependencies among control parameters. With a plethora of operational data available onboard, how does a crew find the optimum operating setup? How can the ship operator monitor, on a larger scale, energy performance of a specific ship or an entire fleet, and store and analyse all relevant data onshore?

This is where FutureShip, via the cooperation with Marorka, can help. Marorka Onboard gathers all energy efficiency relevant information from a ship’s onboard systems or from dedicated sensors. The information is then processed and displayed in an easy and comprehensive way that enables the ship’s crew to monitor the energy efficiency at any time and make well-informed decisions on the operating parameters. All relevant information is also stored in a database for later analysis.

More advanced optional software modules give decision support on important operational parameters such as propulsion setup or power and steam plant settings. For onshore data display, storage, and advanced analysis, Marorka Online is providing the power to monitor and analyse the energy performance of an entire fleet.

Marorka Onboard

Marorka SPM is designed to display ship performance in a simple and comprehensive way. The basic solution: Marorka SPM
A stand-alone Ship Performance Monitoring Systems that calculates fuel efficiency based on fuel consumption, GPS and log speed, propeller power and main engine RPM. It displays performance values and trends on a touch panel computer, which collects measurement data, creates real time performance analyses, and records historical performance data that can also be sent to shore for further analysis with Marorka Online.

Marorka Maren OP3 provides a detailed ship performance overview. The flexible standard: Marorka Maren OP3
As an advanced alternative beyond basic performance monitoring, Marorka Maren Operating Platform (OP3) is the established standard solution. It is connected to all relevant onboard systems for extensive data collection from propulsion, navigation, machinery, and cargo systems as well as weather and oceanic forecasts.

Data is stored onboard, can be analysed with optional Marorka modules and very flexibly sent ashore for further storage and analysis with Marorka Online. Based on and connected to Marorka Maren OP3, there are modular expansions, such as propulsion performance optimisation, simulation of voyage schedules and costs, monitoring of power and steam production efficiency.

Marorka Online

Marorka online Whatever Marorka Onboard solution you select, Marorka Online adds the link between ship and shore in ship performance monitoring. It enables the onshore storage, aggregation, analysis, and enrichment of onboard systems data for entire fleets. Marorka Online provides an easy to use management dashboard and analysis functions that can be individually customised to your special needs.

How you benefit

  • You gain unique insight into your ship’s energy consumption related operational data
  • Your crew is able to save fuel by optimising the ship’s operating parameters
  • You gain the possibility to track, analyse, and benchmark the energy efficiency of your entire fleet and significantly reduce the overall carbon footprint
